I enjoy Anna Quindlen's writing and this book certainly added to that enjoyment.  It totally engaged me; I didn't want to put it down and in fact read it in two seatings.  She provided good insight into growing up in a small town as well as the life experiences of a woman growing up in the 60s.  Although the book spanned almost the entire lifetime of the main character, I never felt that it was rushed or that I was cheated out of knowing more about her.  I'm even recommending this book to my husband!
